The old Trust that managed the village hall is currently being wound down and a new legal structure, a SCIO (a more modern type of charity constitution) has been accepted by OSCR (the charity regulator in Scotland).

Bavs are supporting the new SCIO to set up and we would like to ensure that this is done in a transparent and open way. We would like to speak to the village about how we can support this process, and the training and support Bavs can provide.

We would also like to ask for volunteers to become Trustees. We would like to support this recruitment so it’s done in a democratic way – so everyone feels they have had the opportunity to become a Trustee if they would like to (they must be over 16 and live in Longformacus or area). This is important so the committee is representative of everyone who lives in village.
