CELCA Community Funding

One of the key features in the Lammermuirs is the wind farms. Operators of wind farms are obliged to donate a proportion of their income to charitable causes in the areas that they generate. In the Lammermuirs, this money is put towards local causes through the Cranshaws, Ellemford and Longformacus Community Association known as CELCA (SC035892).

CELCA receives funding from two wind farms: Crystal Rig (operated by Fred Olsen Renewables) and Aikengall II (operated by Community Wind Power Limited).

Funding is also available by application to the Blackhill Wind Farm Community Fund which  is a charitable organisation funded by Renewable Energy Systems Ltd (RES), the operators of the Blackhill Wind Farm situated to the south of Longformacus, Berwickshire.  Grants are awarded for community projects within the community council areas of Abbey St Bathans, Bonkyl and Preston; Cranshaws, Ellemford and Longformacus: Duns; Gavinton, Fogo and Polwarth.  More information can be found HERE

For CELCA funding please see the Guidance Notes to see who can apply for funds and for what purpose.

If you would like to apply for funding from CELCA and you think your project fits within the guidelines, please download the editable PDF Application Form and save it to your computer/tablet.  Once you have completed the Application Form, send it to the CELCA Administrator at celcasecretary@gmail.com
